The short documentary I did about Roller Derby won Best Picture and tied for Best Cinematography. Trophies for the fireplace!

Sparrow is a bar in Astoria, NY. Every three months they have a film competition. Basically, you draw a title and a genre out of a hat and have 3 weeks to complete a 3 minute film. This is my 3rd film submission, I drew the title “nice and sugared up” (I don’t like the title one bit!) and the genre I picked was Documentary. I went to Albany, NY to film the last game of the season for the Albany All Stars. Hope you like it! You can see all the films that were submitted here.http://www.vimeo.com/12927833
My brother Jeff and I shot the intro for our friend Rodney’s website. Jeff build a great “poor man’s” motion control rig with some dolly track, some c-stand arms, a length of chain, a stepper motor and a number of sandbags. Rodney came to us with the concept and we came up with a number of ideas but decided to go follow the KISS rule. Keep it Simple Stupid. We built it the day before, ran some tests and shot the following day on the 5D. Thanks to Kareem Black for hooking us up with Rodney in the first place and to Brendan Bellomo for helping nail down the post. CHECK OUT HIS SITE HERE.
My friend Edward Richardson, a Knoxville based camera operator, just released a new Iphone app, JumpStart LTC, that generates LTC timecode so you can set your dedicated timecode device, such as a recorder, slate, camera or other device from your Iphone or Ipod Touch.

Based on Phantom imaging technology, the Flex camera extends the legacy of the groundbreaking Phantom HD – a camera that changed the world of high-speed imaging for television and motion picture production forever. Click here to check out the specs. Can’t wait to get my hands on this one.
I was DP and co-director of this spec spot, shot with the Phantom HD camera. My friend owns Dover Boxing Club in Dover, NJ, he invited us out to the gym as I had the camera for an extra day after dp’ing another project for Nokia. We had about 3 hours to set up, shoot and break down… I wanted to shoot much more but we ran out of time. My thanks to David at Ghava, Ed Leary (trainer), Richie (ref), Travis, Keaton and Zach Tips, Brendan Bellomo and Zach Spira-Bauer for all their help.
